According to various reports, the much-anticipated cricketing extravaganza is expected to kick off following the conclusion of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. IPL 2024 to bowl out on March 22
According to a report by Cricbuzz, the 17th edition of IPL is poised to kick off on March 22, with the tournament running until May 26. This schedule aligns with the conclusion of WPL 2024, which is set to finish on March 17. Notably, the T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to commence just five days after the IPL’s conclusion, beginning in the West Indies and USA on May 31.
However, India‘s inaugural match in the World Cup is slated for June 5, giving players a much needed nine-day break. The tentative schedule, discussed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with stakeholders, outlines the WPL’s second season from February 22 to March 17. The official announcement of these dates is expected shortly.
